A lifelong resident of Boutiliers Point, Nova Scotia, Lew has worked in mechanical maintenance in the mining and oil industries, as well as in the Halifax Dockyards. Lew is a volunteer with the Tetra Society of North America, where he modifies equipment for persons with disabilities. In his spare time, Lew putters in his workshop, enjoys playing keyboards and guitar, and spends time with his wife (also a former volunteer with HACL) travelling in their motor home.
Lew became involved with the Association for Community Living in 2003 as Branch Representative for St. Margaret’s Bay ACL. With a seat at the NSACL Board table, he became a part of a group of sharing, caring, committed people, an experience for which he is very grateful. He became Vice-President in 2007, President in 2011, and returned to the role of Vice-President in 2019. Lew’s experience, perspective and wisdom are valued greatly by his fellow Board members.
